Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mrs. Aishath Nahula has addressed the 41st Triennial Assembly of ICAO.

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mrs. Aishath Nahula has addressed the 41st Triennial Assembly of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The Assembly is taking place at ICAO Headquarters in Montréal - Canada from 27th September 2022 to 7th October 2022.
In her Statement she detailed the achievements of the past 3 years, priorities for the next 3 years and general aviation policies of the government Maldives.

She called on all member states to find common ground despite the differences in opinion on matters of mutual importance to the global civil aviation sector.

She also highlighted the importance of each and every country’s equal opportunity to raise their voice, protect their sovereignty and the need to help other member states in need.

The Minister thanked ICAO, the European Union, international partners, and our neighbours for their cooperation to raise the level of effective implementation and their assistance in increasing the level of compliance with ICAO SARPs.

The ICAO Assembly is the Organization’s sovereign body.  It meets at least once every three years and is convened by ICAO’s governing body, the Council.
 
ICAO's 193 Member States and a large number of international organizations are invited to the Assembly, which establishes the worldwide policy of the Organization for the upcoming triennium.
